Starting at Cobham

Starting at Cobham was a big step up from primary school. Cobham has many opportunities to offer. In summer you can trial for many sports such as Basketball, Cricket, Softball, Touch, Volleyball and Water polo. We learnt even if you don't get into a team never give up because there's lots more opportunities to play sport with your teacher in your home room.

We soon learnt Cobham had great surroundings with Jellie park across the road and a great athletics track at Burnside high. On our first week we went swimming twice it was great fun playing with our new classmates and jumping off the diving boards. When we got back we could smell the delicious food from the canteen that Mrs Tonks had prepared earlier for lunch. At the canteen there is a wide variety of food ranging from Sticky raspberry buns to juicy American hotdogs.

On Monday the 11th of February we started technology. Room 14 was split into three categories Science, Wood and Food. In science this term we are learning about heat. So far we have learnt how to use the Bunsen burner and named lots of science equipment. It is really fun and I cant wait to go back on Friday. In wood we made a bird like note holder it took us two sessions to finish it all we did was cut and drill the pieces together. On Monday we started making wind spirals they are going to look fabulous. In food tech we made fruit smoothies, vegetable platters and then toasties. So overall in the past 3 weeks we have had heaps of fun and we are really looking forward to camp.
